Forgive the bad pun, but what do you expect from a fellow who is both a Japanese major and a dad? :)
This week, we’re talking about one of the biggest stars in science fiction: Marie Vibbert. Honestly, we’re honored just to be working with her, she’s that amazing. With 100+ stories and poems in print, in pretty much every science fiction outlet you can think of, she has really set the literary standard for the genre.
If you haven’t picked up her latest, The Gods Awoke, do yourself a holiday favor and gift yourself. It’s got everything: a goddess who doesn’t know she’s divine, a weird love triangle, women-on-top, examinations of class, race, and religion, an impending apocalypse, and that trademark Vibbert snark. By turns sublime and silly, but always moving, this is one of my favorite books of all time.
Marie has been busy doing the midwest circuit. On November 24th, she was at AppleTree Books, a terrific store in Cleveland. If you’re anywhere near C-Town, give them a visit. They’ve probably still got signed copies of The Gods Awoke… and Galactic Hellcats, a story of lesbian bikers in space.

You can keep track of Marie’s doings by going here. She’s always got a signing or a workshop going on, and she not only is a cool human being, but she has the best wardrobe.
Beyond that, Marie has been busy writing this year; here’s all she’s published in 2023!
(This month is Hugo nomination’s month. If you had a membership to Chengdu Worldcon this year, or you’re getting/have a Glasgow Worldcon membership, the deadline to nominate is Dec. 31.)
